Our Veterinarian
Dr. Musick was born and raised in the Reno/Tahoe area. He remembers wanting to be a vet since his family got their first dog when he was six. Dr. Musick attended undergrad at the University of Nevada, Reno majoring in Veterinary Medicine and was accepted to Colorado State University after 3 years of undergraduate work. While at CSU, he met and married his wife. After graduation, Dr. Musick moved back to Reno and started working at a large clinic in Reno where he gained invaluable skills both medically, professionally and personally. During this time, Dr. Musick was mentored by veterinarians who showed him how important it is to develop relationships with not only the pet but also the client. He was able to see how a good relationship leads to healthy communication, trust and better patient care.
After over 11 years of practice at that facility, Dr. Musick felt that it was important to be closer to his home in Sparks and to be able to partner with the veterinarians that were already in the region to help serve the pets and families in the area. Dr. Musick became fear free certified to help manage the stress of the veterinary visit for both clients and pets and incorporates fear free practices into the clinic and all visits.
Dr. Musick loves seeing his patients and their parents out in the community and loves being a part of their lives. He lives in Sparks with his wife, three children and his dogs, Clyde and Willie.
